String skipping on the horizontal major scale
Skippin' a few strings
In this exercise you will be playing 3 notes per string on two different strings. The catch here is that there will always be at least one string between these two strings so you will have to do some string skipping.
Check out the major scale on the whole neck:
You will play a sequence on two of these strings and climb the scale horizontally on the neck!
This lick are very hard on the left hand. Be gentle and don't overplay!
E-string and B-string
Let us look only at the notes of the E and B strings (6th and 2nd). You need to jump three whole strings in this exercise, so start slow.
Start by playing three notes on the E string, then play three notes on the B string, then go back to the E string and move up a note. Repeat this until you reach the octave mark! Here are the tabs:
